Prints recovered from vehicle used in KPO attack

Sources say the vehicle’s original owner has yet to be traced

Police on Thursday completed the forensic analysis of the vehicle used by attackers who stormed the Karachi Police Office on Friday, Police sources said five sets of fingerprints were obtained from the vehicle.

They were being checked against the records in the National Database Registration Authority (Nadra). They said that a pair of shoes, a prayer cap, ajrak, rope, a plastic mat, blanket, leather socks, a Kalashnikov magazine, a plastic bag and a handkerchief were found in the vehicle.

Sources say the vehicle’s original owner has yet to be traced. They added that they were carrying out raids in this regard. Investigative sources said that the third terrorist killed in the attack was yet to be identified. His fingerprints did not match with those in Nadra records, they added.
