Seven injured in Attock gas explosion

Victims include women, 2 severely injured children

Seven members of a family including four women and two children sustained burn injuries after their house was engulfed by a fire caused by a gas leakage in Attock.

According to Rescue 1122 and police sources, the incident took place on Saturday morning within the limits of Attock police station.

District emergency officer Ali Hasnain said an explosion ripped through the house when the house lady switched on a stove to prepare breakfast. As a result, a fireball engulfed the house. He added that two ambulances and a fire tender reached the spot and extinguished the fire. He also said the injured were shifted to the district headquarters hospital.

The injured include a 70-year-old lady and children aged 4 and 3 years. The children are stated to have received severe burn injuries. Police sources said during the preliminary investigation, it was found that the incident was not an act of sabotage. They said the police have registered a case and launched further investigation.
