Pakistan, Saudi Arabia hold joint military exercise

The closing ceremony of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia joint military exercise "Al Kassah-IV" was held at Military College of Engineering Risalpur, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Thursday.

According to the statement, troops from Royal Saudi Land Forces and Pakistan Army participated in the exercise. "The two weeks long exercise was aimed at sharing mutual experiences in the field of route search, area search, vehicle/ personal search and area clearance operations," it added.

The ISPR said that drills and techniques regarding Improvised Explosives Devices (IEDs), Vehicle Improvised Explosive Devices (VIED), Anti-Suicidal, Victim Operated Improvised Explosive Devices and handling of explosives were the special focus areas of the joint exercise.

This is the fourth joint exercise of Al-Kassah series as part of bilateral military cooperation between the two friendly countries.

Engineer-in-Chief Pakistan Army witnessed the closing ceremony as chief guest.

A high-level military delegation from KSA headed by Director General Engineers Major General Saad Misfer Alqahtani also attended the closing ceremony, the statement further said.

Last month, Pakistan also held joint military exercises with Turkiye at Tarbela in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province.

"Troops from Turkish special force and Special Services Group (SSG) are participating in the exercise," said the statement by ISPR.

"The drills are going to enhance the cooperation between two countries while fighting against terrorism," the statement added.
