Legendary actor Sridevi passed away in 2018 but her memorable performances and films will forever be etched in our minds. And in light of the mark, she left on the world, her husband Boney Kapoor had revealed that he will publish a biographical account on her life. Now, several years later, the producer has confirmed that a biography titled Sridevi – The Life of a Legend, is set to come out this year.
In a recent discussion with the Indian Express, Boney Kapoor disclosed that the biography will be penned by Dhiraj Kumar. "Sridevi was a force of nature. She was the happiest when she shared her art on screen with her fans. But she was also a fiercely private person. Dhiraj Kumar is someone whom she considered family. He is a researcher, writer, and columnist. We are happy that he is writing a book that befits her extraordinary life," said Boney.
As per the aforementioned publication, Dhiraj also stated that he is delighted to have his debut book based on the unforgettable diva. He said, "I am delighted that the venerable Westland Books will be publishing my debut book. My literary agent, Anish Chandy made this happen. I am thankful for the permission and support of Boney Kapoor and his family, Latha and Sanjay Ramaswamy, Suryakala, Maheshwari and Karthik, Reena and Sandeep Marwah."
According to the publishers, the book is a complete insight into Sridevi's life and will make readers view the icon from an entirely different lens. "What attracted us to this book was the wealth of research behind it. Dhiraj Kumar's friendship with Sridevi and her family enables him to offer a unique insight into the inner world of the very private star. This book will make readers rediscover an icon," said Sanghamitra Biswas, executive editor of Westland Books.
Meanwhile, Sridevi's critically acclaimed film, English Vinglish, is set for a massive theatrical release in China to mark her fifth death anniversary. The Gauri Shinde directorial marked the actor's comeback to the silver screen after fifteen years. The film will premiere on over 6000 screens across China on February 24.
