Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Wednesday strongly condemned the raids on Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leader Chauhdry Pervez Elahi’s residence in Gujrat and called it ‘naked fascism’.
In a series of tweets through his official account, the former premier also decried the “arbitrary arrests and abductions” of Elahi’s supporters and workers.
Strongly condemn the repeated police raids on Pervez Elahi's home in Gujrat as well as arbitrary arrests & abductions of his supporters & those who worked with him. This is naked fascism on the part of Imported Govt & their Handlers, simply to spread fear in all who support us.

He maintained that the incumbent “imported government” was attempting to “spread fear” in the supporters of the PTI and its allies.
Imran highlighted that arrests and actions against the Sharif family and other political bigwigs during the PTI tenure were a “result” of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) cases with “over 95% filed before” the PTI came into power and pertaining to the Panama revelations.
“While in custody they were given VIP treatment. But what they wanted was NRO (National Reconciliation Ordinance) which we refused,” he added.
Just to remind, arrests of & actions ag Sharifs & others during our govt, were a result of NAB cases with over 95% filed before we were voted into power & of the int Panama revelations. While in custody they were given VIP treatment. But what they wanted was NRO which we refused.

He continued that the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) government in contrast was “using all manner of harassment, arrests, custodial torture and abductions purely for political victimization”.

According to Imran, the government was trying to beat the opposing PTI down through brutal state power because they knew “they can’t win any elections”.
In contrast, they are using all manner of harassment, arrests, custodial torture & abductions purely for political victimisation. They know they cant win any elections, so are trying to beat us down through use of brutal State power. It wont work. Our resolve only gets stronger.

Earlier this week, Punjab police again laid siege to the house of former Punjab Chief Minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PMLQ) leader Chaudhry Parvez Elahi in Gujarat but returned without making any arrest.
According to details, a heavy police force under the leadership of the District Police Officer (DPO) gathered outside Kunjah House, the residence of Pervez Elahi.
The contingent included police and elite force personnel from more than 10 police stations.
As per sources, there were gatekeepers and housekeepers at his residence while no member of Elahi’s family was present, adding that the PML-Q leader was in Lahore while Monis Elahi was out of the country.
It is pertinent to mention here that this was the second raid in a week after his house was besieged 5 days ago.
