The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA)’s Corporate Crime Circle has booked six Capital Development Authority (CDA) officers and the president of a private housing society on charges of corruption and causing the loss of human lives.
According to a spokesperson for the FIA, the accused were booked on the complaint of former CDA Human Resource Development Director Fiaz Ahmed Watto.
He said the accused were allegedly responsible for altering the layout plan of the Pakistan Medical Housing Society, located in Sector H-11, contrary to facts, narrowing the 60 to 70 feet wide natural drain to 18 feet and subsequently causing loss of two lives during the 2021 flash floods.
The president of the private housing society was identified as Shahid Yaqoob.
The FIA Spokesperson further said the accused include CDA Planning DG Ghulam Sarwar Sindhu, PND Member Abdul Aziz Qureshi, Housing Director Ashiq Ali Ghori, Housing Deputy Director Zafar Iqbal Zafar, Deputy Director Abdul Haq Brohi and Jeddah Town Project Director Liaquat Mohiuddin Qadri.
FIA Inspector Mohammad Yaqoob Mangreo registered the case and started the probe, he said, and added that efforts are being made to arrest the accused.
