HYDERABAD:

The use of police emergency lights and sirens in private vehicles has once again drawn the attention of the Hyderabad police, who claimed to have removed such devices from several vehicles on Saturday.

Following the directives of DIG Hyderabad Peer Muhammad Shah, the Hyderabad police have also removed tinted glasses and fancy number plates of the vehicles.

The police warned shopkeepers against selling police lights, sirens, hooters, dark tinted glasses, and fancy number plates to the public.

Hyderabad Show Parts Dealers Association president, Syed Ali Hassan, stated that while his market near Haider Chowk was targeted by the police last year, other markets continue to sell banned items. Ali Hassan claimed that his area markets have stopped selling such items but other markets in cities such as Qasimabad, Tando Allahyar, Tando Muhamamd Khan, and Jamshoro continue to sell the banned items without any action by the police. He faced resistance when he asked shopkeepers in his own market to stop selling police lights and sirens due to security concerns.
