Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has constituted a four-member committee to submit recommendations for providing cardiac emergency services in government hospitals of Punjab.
The committee will submit its recommendations regarding provision of facilities to implant stents and perform angioplasty after reviewing the available facilities for mandatory cardiac emergency services in the government hospitals in the coming few days.
Presiding over a meeting in which the facilities for cardiac patients in government hospitals were reviewed, the caretaker chief minister stressed that all possible steps would be taken to ensure timely treatment of cardiac patients.
He said collaboration with the private sector should also be reviewed for providing facilities to the cardiac patients.
Provincial Caretaker Minister for Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Dr Javed Akram said it was necessary to start treatment of cardiac patient within 90 minutes and creating public awareness about the treatment in case of a heart attack was also essential.
