KARACHI:

A reborn Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) has embarked on a new journey, said its convener Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqi.

He was addressing a mammoth MQM-P General Workers Meeting held at KMC Ground, adjacent to Pir Elhi Bakhsh (PIB) Colony late on Wednesday night.

MQM-P Deputy Convener Amir Khan, members of coordination committee, Syed Mustafa Kamal, Anees Qaim Khani, Dr Farooq Sattar, officials of different wings of MQM-P, Haq Parast lawmakers, and women participated in the meeting in large numbers.

MQM-P Convener Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqi said that today, on this decisive occasion, the more united and organised Muttahida Qaumi Movement is starting a new and fresh journey. “When we decided to withdraw from the elections, the people gave up their right to vote. These workers are the real powerhouse of Karachi. Now they will run Karachi from the streets. We will run Karachi. Those who win will be ashamed, history will declare them criminal.”

He said that Mutaheda is starting a new journey after unity. “It is not bias that you support your nation is against cruelty,” he told the crowd and claimed “MQM has never committed atrocities and never supported people who did atrocities.”

Those who won the local government elections are ashamed that even five per cent of people of Karachi did not come out, MQM-P leader said.

Siddiqui said that Mustafa Kamal told you that the Sindh government admitted its mistake. The Sindh government admitted the irregularity of 53 seats. “Now my question is to the members of Jamaart e Islami and PTI that you went to the court against the wrong constituencies, so why did you participate in the elections today?”

MQM-P convener reminded, “our slogans of demanding rights for Karachi seemed illegal and against the Sharia to Jamaat-e-Islami but today they have adopted the same slogans. We had gone to the courts against the last census and the results of the census proved our fears right. Until today, these courts have not heard our case for a single day.”

He said that this is the slogan for the survival and security of Pakistan that “we created Pakistan and we will save Pakistan”.
