Traders seek parking lots

Although a building is under construction but it will take at least five more years for it to get completed

ISLAMABAD:

The federal capital is facing a grave issue of lack of parking space in the markets, said the All Pakistan Anjuman Tajran and Traders Action Committee Islamabad President Ajmal Baloch, Secretary, and Chairman Traders Committee ICCI Khalid Chaudhry and G81 General Secretary Abdul Ghaffar Chaudhry.

In a joint statement, they said that CDA had planned to construct a multi-story parking space three years ago however, it has not even begun yet.

Although a specific building is under construction in Blue Area but it will take at least five more years for it to get completed. They said that a multi-story parking lot was supposed to be constructed at the GTS base adjacent to Aabpara Market, but the work could not begin due to unknown reasons.

They complained that shops were being removed from Class III shopping centres, and plazas are being constructed instead, which is a complete violation of the master plan.
