ACP helped restore cultural activities in Karachi: Murad

Sindh CM inaugurates five new projects at ACP, says more institutions of the like needed in other cities

Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi has played an integral role in restoring the cultural activities in the metropolis, said Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah adding that more such institutions need to be set up in other cities of Sindh.

He was speaking at the oath taking ceremony of the newly elected governing body of Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi held at the ACP. Murad also inaugurated five projects at ACP.

The projects included Studio 1, Studio 2, Josh Malihabadi Library, Ahmed Parvez Art Gallery, and Cafe De' Art. A dinner and musical evening was also organized for the members of Arts Council.

ACP has played a great role in restoring the splendor of the city. He said that opening of Josh Malihabadi Library is a welcome move.

On this occasion, he congratulated for holding peaceful local body elections and said that it is not possible to organize more fair elections than this election. No untoward incident took place during the polling process. ACP President Muhammad Ahmad Shah said culture and literature help connect people.

Earlier, President Ahmad Shah, Vice President Manoor Saeed, Secretary Ejaz Farooqui, Joint Secretary Noorul Huda Shah, Khazin Qudsia Akbar, Members Governing Body Ghazi Salahuddin, Jafar Ahmed, Shahnaz Wazir Ali, Nusrat Haris, Amjad Siraj Memon, Akhlaq Ahmed , Shehzad Raza Naqvi, Huma Mir, Ayub Sheikh, Saadat Jafri, Farrukh Shahab, Chand Gul Shah, Najia Ashar, Anbareen Haseeb Anbar, Qaiser Sajjad, Asjad Bukhari took oath.
