Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has said Pakistan Tahreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has devised a strategy under which Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif would have to obtain a vote of confidence from the National Assembly, in which he would fail.
The Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) leader said while speaking to media representatives on Sunday that he had taken the vote of confidence in the Punjab Assembly, and now it was the prime minister’s turn.
He said Imran Khan was passionate about making Pakistan prosper, the youth were with him and the entire nation was united under his leadership. The chief minister said he had fulfilled his promise by to Khan by sacrificing his post of chief minister.
Elahi predicted that the Paksitan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) would face a historic defeat in the coming elections. “The fate of PML-N will be no different from the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP). Shehbaz Sharif considers himself very clever and always looks for hidden support, but this time he has badly exposed,” he maintained.
He said the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) lacked harmony and the Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) had parted ways with the government.
The chief minister said former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was not returning to the country because he knew that there is no chance of winning elections, but he had asked his party to make preparations for the polls.
Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi inaugurated the Khatimun Nabiyeen (SAW) University and laid the foundation stone of a mosque in Lahore.
