KARACHI:

The role of minbar and mihrab or the pulpit and the arch is important in establishing a peaceful and prosperous society, said the alumni of one of the country's top religious learning institutions, Jamia Binoria Alamia.

Addressing a gathering of religious scholars who had graduated the seven-year Aalim Course during 1992 and 2022, the institutions head Maulana Noman Naeem said that it is the responsibility of religious seminaries to provide honest leadership to the country.

"Today, corruption has taken root in every sector of our country due to which we are not progressing," Naeem said. He said madrasas graduates have the ability to work in numerous fields. "We need to refine them."

Naib-Muhtamim Maulana Farhan Naeem, Director of Education (Nazim Talimaat) and Sheikhul Hadith Maulana Abdul Hameed Khan Ghori, well-known education and training expert Maulana Sheikh Jahangir, teacher of Hadith Maulana. Azizur Rahman Hazarvi, Maulana Rasheed Ahmad Swati, Hadith teacher Maulana Azizur Rahman Azimi, Hadith teacher Maulana Sulaiman, Maulana Hussain Siddiqui, Director of the Darul Qur'an Department, Banuria Qari Abdul Manan, Dr. Mufti Waqar Ahmed and other scholars.

The relief operations of Banuria Welfare Trust are commendable. He said that, the graduates associated with various fields give vision to people with focus on building people in their fields. They should try to enhance their capabilities to progress in their fields.

Well-known educationist Maulana Sheikh Jahangir Mehmood said the head of mosques and prayer leaders are the leader of the community and they should not be arrogant. "The Holy Prophet (PBUH) was gentle, we also have to be gentle."

He said instead of insulting people on wrong behavior, it is the responsibility of scholars to correct them.

Maulana Abdul Hameed Khan Ghori said that the work done with sincerity, devotion and hard work leads to success. Encourage consultation with your elders. There is no harm in consulting in religious and worldly matters.

Maulana Azizur Rahman Hazarvi said that the role of minbar and mihrab the pulpit and the arch is important in establishing a peaceful and beautiful society. It is the responsibility of the imams of the mosques to try to educate the members of the society in religious, moral and social ways.  In Friday sermons focus on social evils rather than sectarian issues and incitement on violence, Hazarvi said.

Maulana Azizur Rahman Azimi said criticism on social media is not the solution to the problem, but it has to be used as a weapon to promote Islamic teachings.

As per Azimi, there is a need for innovation in relation to religious services as well. There is no innovation in religion, but innovation is necessary in preaching and spreading religion.
