Police rescued two suspects from a lynching mob on Monday. The crowd had overpowered the suspects who were escaping after looting a men's salon in Orangi Town.
A mobile squad of Pakistan Bazar Police responding to a distress call on police helpline 15 reached the spot where a mob was thrashing two suspected robbers. The crowd was about to kill the 'snatchers' known for killing people for offering reisitance during muggings, when policemen appeared like angels and arrested them.
The mobile team took the suspects into custody and went in pursuit of the third one who had escaped the scene and later shifted the three to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medical treatment. SHO Riaz Ahmed Bhutto said that the robbers had been identified as Abdul Wahab, Qasim Abu Huraira, and Huzaifa Muhammad Sultan.
While two pistols, seven bullets and a motorcycle were recovered from them.
The suspects had robbed a hairdresser's shop in Orangi Town three days ago too. The arrested suspects are involved in several robberies in hairdresser shops.
SHO Bhutto said, Huzaifa had managed to escape the lynch mob opening indiscriminate fire, however, the police party caught him near the German School.
A boy was hit in the stomach due to firing by Huzaifa.
