CM wants tourism projects expedited

Mahmood said that in the last four years, the provincial government has invested substantially in the tourism sector

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has issued directions for speeding up the construction of access roads to tourist spots and the renovation of archaeological sites.

He also directed building of tracks on the basis of need for access to tourist places.

While presiding over a review meeting regarding the construction of roads connecting to tourist places and the restoration of archaeological sites in the province, CM Mahmood said that during the last four years, the provincial government has invested substantially in the tourism sector. The purpose of which is to attract national and international tourists to the province and boost tourism activities.

The meeting was given a detailed briefing regarding the progress made so far on the road projects of the tourism sector in various districts.

The participants of the meeting were informed that the maintenance and upgradation of 22 km Mankyal Road and 24 km Thandiani Road are going on under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Integrated Tourism (Kite) Project, which will be completed by October 2024. These projects will cost 3.4 and 2.5 billion rupees respectively.
