Phd scholar shot dead in mosque

TIMARGARA:

A promising young Phd scholar was killed in a mysterious shooting inside a mosque in the Kando area of Tehsil Khal on Monday.

Dr Ibrahim Khan, who was studying in London and had returned home for Eid, was studying in the mosque during Asr prayers when a bullet suddenly struck him in the forehead, killing him instantly.

The incident sent shockwaves through the local community as news of the scholar's death spread rapidly. Police officials from Khal Police Station said the identity of the shooter remains unknown.

No suspects have been identified so far. A heavy contingent of police reached the scene immediately after the incident, collected evidence, and launched an investigation. A formal case has been registered.

The post-mortem examination confirmed that Dr Ibrahim Khan died from a single gunshot wound to the forehead. Police have described the killing as a "mystery" and are probing all possible angles, including personal enmity or accidental firing.

The tragic death of the young academic has left the local community in mourning. Further investigations are underway.
