At least 17 people were killed and 840 were injured in 825 Road Traffic Crashes (RTCs) across all 37 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours.
Of the injured, 444 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 396 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue Medical Teams.
The majority of RTCs, 72 percent, involved motorbikes. Further analysis showed that 395 drivers, 27 underage drivers, 99 pedestrians, and 363 passengers were among the victims of RTCs.
The statistics show that 174 RTCs were reported in Lahore with 178 victims, placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list.
Faisalabad followed behind with 76 RTCs and 81 victims and Multan at third with 53 RTCs and 49 victims.
The details further reveal that 840 victims were affected by RTCs, including 709 males & 148 females, while the age group of the victims shows that 172 were under 18 years of age, 437 were between 18 and 40 years old and the remaining 248 victims were reportedly above 40 years of age. According to the data 670 motorbikes, 53 auto-rickshaws, 107 cars, 14 vans, 11 passenger buses, 23 trucks and 79 other types of auto vehicles and slow-moving carts were involved in the aforementioned RTCs.
