Over 200 murder and attempted murder cases were reported in Bahawalpur in 2022 while 722 cases of kidnapping and rape were also reported last year.
Three hundred cases of robbery were also reported. All in all, 14,065 cases were registered throughout the year, and 19,851 suspects were taken into custody.
The Bahawalpur Police were using all of their resources to keep peace in society. “Our first priority is ensuring that Bahawalpur is free of crime, and that its residents live in peace,” said DPO Ibadat Nisar.
As per the details, last year 14,065 cases were reported in the Bahawalpur district. 920 of the cases were dismissed for being untrue.
Police in the district arrested 4,839 criminals in total, including 273 "A" Category criminals and 4,566 "B" Category criminals, as they cracked down on fugitives and proclaimed offenders.
In a similar vein, 790 fugitives were arrested and challaned in court.
