Taylor Swift's cat is worth $97 million: reports

The listicle was curated by All About Cats after calculating the net worth of the animals using data from Instagram

Long gone are the days when only humans could monetise their social media. Today, cats have stolen the spotlight online-becoming influencers with their guardians running their accounts behind the curtain.

Recently, All About Cats released a list of the richest pets in the world. Included in the list is none other than America's sweetheart Taylor Swift’s cat Olivia Benson, ranked third with a net worth of $97 million.

The listicle was curated by All About Cats after calculating the net worth of the animals using the data from Instagram and analysing the accounts of well-known pets and their owners to gauge how much capital each animal could earn per post.

While Swift’s feline companion does not have an Instagram handle of its own, Benson has managed to earn millions through her appearance on the Black Space singer's account. The website also mentioned how the Scottish cat's net worth includes the finances from her involvement in projects outside social media.

"Olivia has found success outside of the world of Instagram influencing. The Scottish Fold earned her fortune starring alongside her owner in several music videos, has crafted her own merchandise line and has had cameos in many big-budget ads, including for the likes of Diet Coke and Ned Sneakers," stated the aforementioned website.

Nala Cat, who owns a company that makes high-end cat food came in ahead of Swift's fur pal with an estimated net worth of $100 million, while a German Shepherd named Gunther VI owned by Gunther Corporations took the first place with a fortune worth $500 million.

The late fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld's cat Choupette, who obtained $13 million after Lagerfeld died in 2019 was also on the list, including each of Oprah Winfrey's four dogs who will inherit $30 million after her demise.
