Actors Naseeruddin Shah and Ratna Pathak Shah have been married for over four decades now. The veteran couple is not afraid to speak up on important issues and have taken to social media time and again, in light of the same.

However, there have been times where Naseeruddin has gone overboard with his comments, often startling his ladylove, who fears his statement might land him in trouble one day. Ratna shared she tries to convince Naseeruddin to hold back from expressing his views sometimes, reported Hindustan Times.

The actor, who is currently busy with promotions for her next film Kutch Express, said in a recent interview that she stops her husband from voicing his opinion when she feels the matter is going out of hand. Ratna is afraid people will pelt stones at her house someday. "Aaj ke zamaane mein koi aa kar khada ho jayega ghar par humaare, pathar daalne (In today’s time someone will come and throw stones at our house). It has become so difficult to get work anyway. There are so many reasons for not getting work lately. So, one has to be sensible but not scared, if that is possible,” she told journalist Siddharth Kannan.

Ratna was quick to point out that while there is a sense of fear when a renowned personality puts their opinion forward, it is important to highlight the wrongdoings as well. “Darr lagta hai magar kya karein, agar duniya mein jo galat ho raha hai usko koi point out nahi karega, toh vo sudhrega kaise? We are not foolhardy, abhi tak toh naiyaa doobi nahi hai, aage dekhenge kya hoga (We get scared. But what can we do? If there is nobody who will point out the wrong in the world, then how will things get better? Things have not gotten for the worse now, so let’s see what happens next),” she concluded.
