SC seeks report on steps taken to facilitate passengers at airports

Civil Aviation officials say continuous measures are being taken for the convenience of passengers

The Supreme Court ordered the FIA, ASF, Civil Aviation Authority and others to create an integrated system for immediate redressal of passenger complaints and submit a detailed and updated report in the case related to lack of facilities and mistreatment of passengers at airports.

A hearing was held in the Supreme Court Karachi Registry in front of a bench consisting of Justice Jamal Khan Mandukhel, Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar and Justice Syed Hasan Azhar Rizvi on a petition related to lack of facilities at airports and mistreatment of passengers.

Civil Aviation officials said that continuous measures are being taken for the convenience of passengers. FIA officials said that modern arrangements have been made at the airports to prevent human trafficking, drug smuggling, export of illegal goods. IBMS and machine readable passport systems have also been installed at airports. ASF has set up counters for immediate redressal of passenger complaints. The Supreme Court ordered to submit a detailed and updated report on all the steps taken.
