PEDO, HPTI sign MoU

Training courses to increase capacity of professional engineers, provide them opportunities to learn modern skills

An agreement has been reached between Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organization (PEDO) and Hydro Power Training Institute (HPTI) Mangala WAPDA for conducting training courses related to staff skills in using machinery and other technical issues, which will increase the capacity of professional engineers and provide them with opportunities to learn modern skills.

In this regard, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between PEDO and HPTI Mangla WAPDA. The signing ceremony of the agreement was held at PEDO House Peshawar under the chairmanship of Chief Executive Engineer Naeem Khan.

On behalf of PEDO, Director Admn Mohammad Idrees Khattak and Director Mechanical Dr Akram Ali from HPTI signed the MoU.

Speaking at the event, Naeem Khan described the training program as a milestone for the professional engineers associated with the power sector.

He said that under the said training program, engineers of WAPDA and PEDO will be able to learn modern skills about running power plants and using machinery at the same place.

He thanked HPTI that they will enlighten the professional engineers related to the energy sector in the province with modern skills, which is a big step towards the development of energy in the province and PEDO will emerge as mini WAPDA and a developed institution of the province in the coming days.
