A new mega project known as the “Galaxy Water Supply Scheme” has been completed to supply water to all densely populated union councils in the suburban areas of Rawalpindi under the auspices of the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA).

The total cost of the project is Rs430.4 million. Under the project, nine new tube wells have been installed in Gorakhpur near Adiala Road. Approximately 50 to 70 thousand gallons of water will be supplied daily from all the tube wells to more than two and a half lakh population of Gorakhpur, Adiala Road, Kalyal, Dhamman Syedan Union Councils, and all their adjoining areas. Former federal minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan will be inaugurating this mega water supply project next week.

Under the project, two underground water tanks with a storage capacity of two lakh gallons of water have also been constructed, while 85,000 feet of distribution line has been laid.
