KARACHI:

The Anti-Terrorism Administrative Court on Wednesday approved five day-physical remand of the three cops of Shaheen Force who had slain a citizen, Aamir Baloch, in a fake encounter in Gulistan Johar on Tuesday.

The investigation officer told the court that suspects Faisal, Shaheryar and Nasir are posted in the Shaheen Force and they claimed that a robber was killed in a police encounter.

Their claim proved false during initial investigation, the officer said. The police also obtained initial statements of the relatives of the deceased and CCTV footages. The IO requested the court for physical remand of the accused for interrogation and Criminal Record Office formalities. The court accepted the plea.

Suspects confess

The three policemen of Shaheen Force have confessed before their senior officers. The arrested police officials involved in the murder of a citizen in Gulistan-Johar gave a confessional statement in front of their officers.

As per their statement Shehryar had fired two shots on Aamir which hit him, one in the leg and one in the chest which proved fatal. When the cops found no weapon from Aamir, they showed their official pistol and claimed that it was recovered from the 'slain suspect'.

Funeral prayers offered

The funeral prayer of Aamir Baloch was performed in Gulshan Iqbal under the leadership of Aamir Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman on Wednesday. No government representative participated in the funeral.

Hafiz Naeem also met with the father of Naeem Baloch, Nisar Ahmed and other family members and condoled with them. President of the JI Public Aid Committee District East M Qutub was also with him.

Later, talking to the media, Naeem demanded that the killers of Aamir Baloch should be punished according to the law and justice should be provided to the family along with compensation.

He said that it is clear in the CCTV footage that the deceased Aamir Baloch is telling the Shaheen Force personnel 'listen to me', but these rouge cops shot him. No law in the world allows to shoot a citizen without any investigation.
