Imran Ashraf asks Shaniera to not drag him to add fuel to her road safety spat with Feroze Khan

The actor uploaded a video dancing in his car while driving with his son, Roham, in his lap

After Feroze Khan, actor Imran Ashraf Awan pissed Shaniera Akram off for driving with his son in the front seat without a seatbelt. The Raqs-e-Bismil actor later offered a clarification on how the activist shouldn’t have dragged him to “add fuel to a controversy” when all he did was post a fun video with his son outside their home.

On Monday, Awan posted a video to explain why he wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and had his son Roham sitting in his lap while in a car. “For those who know me, I've been posting something with Roham almost every day. I had just woken up, my son called me from my room, we got in the car and danced a little and parked the car inside,” he said in the clip. “That video, which only had a heart on it, was linked to a controversy by our bhabhi (Shaniera) who is from the west. I respect you a lot, and I have never said I disagree with your comments. Please don’t wrongly accuse me of things.”

He further requested Akram to not bring him down in her mess because their family is already going through a rough patch and do not have time for such controversies. The Ranjha Ranjha Kardi actor, while urging his followers to keep wearing seatbelts, also asked them to refrain from saying any harsh words to bhabhi (Akram).

Awan’s reply to Akram came after she posted a screenshot of him and his son and called him out for following Khan, and enabling his irresponsible behaviour.

Referring to the Khaani actor, she wrote, “I get your ego has been hurt but I had an obligation. I just cannot see more influencers putting their lives at risk let alone their own children!”

She urged Khan to “see the big picture” and not encourage an illegal act. Instead, she asked him to raise awareness and prevent further deaths by simply endorsing seatbelts. Whether it’s near your home or out on the road, safety rules apply as soon as you get in the car and that’s all that Akram is preaching.

Shaniera persists, Feroze stays tone-deaf

Earlier this week, Akram and Khan had a social media spat where she called him out for risking his son’s safety and he shunned her for not knowing enough in a tone-deaf message.

After Khan said that he heard Akram loud and clear and is choosing to ignore him, she took to Twitter and wrote, “Ignore me that's fine but don't ignore that your actions can have an impact on millions. Do the right thing Feroze. Stand up and protect the lives of children by promoting safety on our roads. Let's work for the betterment of Pakistan, not against it.”

The Khuda Aur Mohabbat actor retaliated with another ill-phrased tweet. “Your text sounds much better to me now. I would love to promote safety and welfare anytime and anywhere. But I wouldn’t take a direct shot at people for not knowing anything. I wouldn't wanna risk, in fact, no one out there would willingly risk their own child’s safety, like that is stupid, to begin with,” read his tweet.

His tweet had a picture of a man on a bike with his kid sleeping under his jacket. “A father has to go through a lot here,” Khan concluded.
