LAHORE:

PTI Chairman and former premier Imran Khan on Thursday said PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif was trying to return to Pakistan and was “posing himself as Nelson Mandela”.

He lashed out at the ruling coalition government, saying “thieves who had looted the country” had returned back after “striking a deal with General (retd) Bajwa”.

Addressing the students via video link from Zaman Park, Lahore the PTI chief noted that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited foreign countries and said that he had not come to seek financial help but was compelled to do so.

“Your premier degrades the nation when he speaks like this. He (PM Shehbaz) is a shameless person. What respect do thieves enjoy? They steal [nation’s] money and send it abroad. They (ruling coalition) say they will not work hard and utilise the aid money,” he said.

“First they struck a deal with General (retd) Musharraf and now with General (retd) Bajwa,” he added, saying “they will now plunder the nation’s wealth”.

The PTI chairman said that the ruling coalition got cases worth Rs1100 billion quashed against them after recent amendments in the accountability law.

He said cases against PPP Co-Chairman Asif Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur were also quashed, noting that the “entire Sindh knows that both siblings take commission in every project”.
