Punjab gears up for Web 3.0 technology

National and international companies were engaged to submit their feedback.

President Arif Alvi is scheduled to attend an event heralding the implementation of the Web 3.0 technology in Punjab on Friday.

The event will be organised by the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB).

Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi had formed a 22-member committee for the adoption of the Web 3.0 technology in the province with Finance Minister Mohsin Leghari as its Convener.

A web portal (web3.punjab.gov.pk/) was launched for the registration of contributors, including researchers, scientists and information technology industry experts.

National and international companies were engaged to submit their feedback.

According to an official statement, adoption of the Web 3.0 technology in Punjab will mean embracing a bouquet of technologies, including blockchain, artificial intelligence and machine learning, which will lead to enhanced privacy and data security.
