864 suspects arrested last week, say police

Weekly report reveals 32 different illegal weapons, 14 motorcycles recovered

KARACHI:

The police on Sunday in its weekly performance report said they arrested 864 suspects during the last week.

According to the police, 35 suspected robbers were arrested while two were killed in 19 police encounters.

At least 32 different types of illegal weapons and 14 motorcycles were recovered from the suspects, a spokesperson to the police said.

As per the report, 61kgs of hashish, 2.7kgs of heroin, and 1.7kgs of methamphetamine ice were recovered from different areas during the ongoing anti-narcotics campaign by the police.

Moreover, more than 144 different types of illegal weapons and ammunition used in looting from citizens and other incidents were taken into custody by the arrested street criminals. The police also recovered a total of 77 stolen motorcycles and two vehicles while carrying out operations in different areas.

Actions taken by the Karachi Police to eradicate crime, restore law and order, and protect the public will continue, said the police officials.
