UBL, SEDF to provide subsidised credit

UBL to provide project financing to SMEs, agriculture sector; SEDF to provide mark-up subsidy on loans

KARACHI:

United Bank Limited (UBL) and the Sindh Enterprise Development Fund (SEDF) recently signed an agreement for institutional collaboration to provide subsidised credit to the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Sindh.

UBL President and CEO Shazad G Dada and SEDF CEO Khizar Pervaiz signed the agreement. UBL will provide project financing to SMEs and agriculture sector while SEDF will provide mark-up subsidy on the loans provided by the bank.

Special Assistant to Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qassim Naveed Qamar said “this is a step towards financial inclusion of a neglected, yet vital segment with focus on modernisation of the rural economy of Sindh”.
