Financial Aid: AIOU to help poor students

AIOU will establish a ‘Student Support Fund’ to help the students of marginalised areas in pursuing higher education.

Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) will establish a ‘Student Support Fund’ to help the students of marginalised areas in pursuing higher education.


“The university will approach philanthropists and other organisations for funding for this purpose,” said AIOU Vice Chancellor Dr Nazir A Sangi.

He informed that the university has raised its enrollment and given admission to 75,000 extra students in its previous semester, while the enrollment of female students had been increased from 52% to 57%.

He further said that the university was expanding its circle and was establishing regional campuses in Umer Kot, Mithi, Larkana, Rahim Yar Khan, Mianwali, Bahawalpur, Gujranwala and Muzzafarabad. Recently, the university has inaugurated its campus in Abbottabad.
