The Peshawar court accepted the pre-arrest bail application of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA), Fazal Elahi, and other leaders.
An application for pre-arrest bail was filed in the court by PTI MPA Fazal Elahi and other leaders Asim, Meena Khan, and Irfan Saleem.
The MPA, Fazal Elahi, said while talking to the media outside the court that he appreciates the efforts of the police but that they are not going to take their hands off of him so easily.
He also stated that Imran Khan's case should be registered voluntarily; FIRs are filed immediately against people like me. Cases are not registered against elites. The case of Imran Khan should also be registered.
He also said that we had a peaceful protest; it is our right. The police tried to arrest me and raided my house. I appreciate the effort of the police, but it is not going to be so easy.
The police had registered a case for protesting in the "red zone" and defaming state institutions. The police had informed the Deputy Speaker of Peshawar Assembly about the arrest and First Information Report (FIR) against Mr Elahi and others for protesting in the Red Zone.
The protest was held in response to a gun attack on PTI Chairman Imran Khan in Wazirabad, during which the PTI chief foiled an assassination attempt. Following that, PTI supporters protested across the country, with one protest led by PTI members went into the red zone and protested in front of Core Commander Peshawar.
According to the details, the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was not happy with the police registering FIRs against the PTI members.
