JOHANNESBURG: Two matches will be played on the first day of play for the knockout stage Round of 16 on Saturday.

In the first game, Uruguay and South Korea will battle it out at the Nelson Mandela Bay stadium at 7pm (PST).

The Asian giants have earned a reputation as set piece masters in South Africa, with three of their five first round goals coming from free kicks.

Uruguay made it to the second round as surprise winners of Group A after holding France to a goalless draw, beating hosts South Africa and Mexico.

In the second match of the day, the Ghana's Black Stars will play for all of Africa as they take on the United States at 11:30pm (PST).

The possibilities seem endless. Ghana have talented youth and speed, while the US have proved themselves a strong team, playing best when pushed to the edge.

Ghana managed a runner-up finish in Group D behind Germany. The Black Stars topped Serbia, had a draw against Australia, then fell to Germany, 1-0.

The US rallied to draw England 1-1, came back from two goals down to draw Slovenia 2-2, and beat Algeria 1-0.
