Due to the PTI long march, a red alert was issued for all hospitals in Bhakkar. The leave of all health department staff was cancelled and arrangements were completed in the hospitals to deal with any untoward situation. Emergency was also imposed in all hospitals with all staff instructed to be alert.
Security arrangements were made by officials to deal with any possible situation, with large contingents of police present in areas including Hyderabad Thal, Mankeera, Sarayay Mohajir, Darya Khan and Dilaywala to protect PTI convoys and the activists therein.
On the orders of Sargodha Division Commissioner Maryam Khan, all entrance and exit points of the district were sealed and there was strict checking process at the Dajal River Bridge, which connects Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab. All convoys from the Bhakkar city converged at the Chandni Chowk.
Senior officials of the health department visited various health centres and alerted the staff.
