PESHAWAR:

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has said that the 14-party alliance of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) has failed to announce its economic agenda as it has actually no plan for the welfare of the people and the country.

He said that the inhabitants of K-P will participate in the “true independence march” and reach Rawalpindi to liberate the country from corrupt politicians and practices that have hit the country’s economy hard.

The chief minister maintained that the march will be peaceful one and serve to highlight the “fact” that the ‘imported’ rulers have failed to deliver on every front and do not have the capacity to steer the country out of the economic and political morass.

Despite passage of 75 years since independence, we have not been able to achieve the true purpose for which Pakistan was established. Under the dynamic leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, the dream of establishing an Islamic welfare state will be realized and for that purpose, every segment of society will have to play its due role, he said.

In a statement issued here from the Chief Minister Secretariat, the chief minister said that people of K-P have always played a key role in every struggle for the stability and strengthening of the homeland, adding that PTI’s real independence march will prove to be the last nail in the coffin of the federal government that came into power under the regime change conspiracy.

He observed that people from K-P will participate in great numbers to achieve real freedom because the “imported government” is serving alien interests and has brought the country’s economy to the brink of collapse.

Khan said that people are committed to rid the country of corrupt politicians’ clutches and their flawed policies that have resulted in unparalleled inflation, currency depreciation and rising unemployment.

The life of an ordinary citizen has become miserable and the federal government has failed badly in providing relief to the public in these testing times.

He made it clear that the only way out from this crisis is free and fair elections in the country, adding that as long as this corrupt conglomerate stays in power, the country’s economy will continue to decline.

The chief minister said all component parties of the PDM have united with the sole purpose of serving alien interests and remaining in power to loot the nation’s wealth. They are yet to present any policy for the welfare and economic wellbeing of ordinary citizens.

The chief minister said that the previous federal government, under the leadership of Imran Khan, put the sinking economy on track for improvement and took practical steps to restore national prestige and identity at international level.

Despite daunting challenges, including the Covid-19 pandemic that hit the global economy badly, Pakistan’s economy performed well because of the political stature and sincere leadership, he added.
