Automaker to invest Rs900m in madrassa skills scheme

The present government has made serious efforts which are unprecedented in the past

A memorandum of understanding was jointly signed between Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s Department of Awqaf and a local automobile company, Indus Motors, the makers of Toyota cars in Pakistan, on Monday to equip religious schools and minority students with modern skills, which will cost Rs90 million.

Under this agreement, the company will spend a sum of Rs900 million on religious madrassas and youth training in minority affairs. It should be noted that Rs30 million will be spent on the training of 100 students belonging to the minority community and Rs60 million will be spent on seminary students.

Addressing the event, the Special Assistant for Minority Affairs said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf government has always taken concrete steps for the welfare and development of the youth of minority affairs and for their education and training for a better future of the youth. The present government has made serious efforts which are unprecedented in the past.

He said that under this agreement, the automaker will help provide modern education, including computer courses, and training in motorcycle and mobile phone repairs.
