RAWALPINDI:

The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) lodged FIRs against the owners of five housing schemes for illegally operating in the garrison city.

According to a spokesperson, the civic agency has accelerated the crackdown on phony housing societies to keep investors from financial harms.

He said the FIRs were lodged against Mivida City, Abdullah City, Budget Agro Farms, Countryside Farms and Kalyam City at respective police stations.

The spokesman also informed that Green Lake City is a dubious housing scheme and was advertising illegally on social media.

He quoted top officials as saying that any advertisement on part of unauthorised schemes was an attempt at deceiving the public, hence it should be reported to relevant authorities.

The civic agency has warned investors that any housing society launched without an NOC from relevant authority was doing illegal business and investors should refrain from falling into their trap.

The spokesman further said the RDA has advised the public to get information about the legality of these housing schemes from the RDA website.
