CHAK JHUMRA:

Three brothers allegedly murdered a cousin of theirs over seeking to marry their sister and threw his body in fields. The police recovered the body and arrested one of the suspects along with a weapon.

According to the local police report, Shamshad Begum, a resident of Chak 133GB, stated in the FIR that she had sent a proposal for the marriage of the daughter of Fazal Abbas, a resident of the same village, with her son Taimoor Abbas.

The complainant claimed that the girl also wanted to marry her son but Fazal and his sons had rejected the proposal and developed a grudge over the issue. She said she had gone for attending a funeral along with her sons Abu Bakar and Taimoor Abbas, after which Ashiq Hussain said he wanted to show them the Ameenpur locality. “My both sons and Ashiq rode away on the motorbike of my son Taimoor Hussain,” she added, divulging details of the incident.

The woman alleged that Ashiq took her sons to his brothers Atif Hussain, Kashif and Ejaz who were present carrying a weapon near a bridge over a lake close to chak 28GB.

“They grabbed my sons and threatened to punish them for sending the marriage proposal for their sister,” she added. She said Kashif grabbed Abu Bakar, while Ashfaq and Ejaz took hold of Taimoor, after which Ashiq Hussain fired at them with a 30-bore pistol. Taimoor was shot in the head. Abu Bakar tried to escape, but Taimoor succumbed to the bullet injury and the suspects fled the scene.
