Capital hospital gets new laboratory

CDA chief orders all-out efforts to facilitate patients

ISLAMABAD:

Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Captain (R) Muhammad Usman Younis on Thursday inaugurated a state-of-the-art laboratory at the Capital Hospital.

During his visit to the hospital, he was briefed on the facilities made available for entertaining patients. The top official was told that the newly built laboratory is equipped with modern technology to cater to the needs of visiting patients.

The laboratory has been equipped with a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test facility, a high-speed chemistry analyser, a high-speed special chemistry analyser, a blood gas analyser and an electrolyte analyser, he was briefed.

Speaking on the occasion, Captain (retd) Muhammad Usman directed that special attention should be paid to ensure facilities for women, especially senior citizens coming to the hospital.

He further directed to identify four suitable places in the city for the establishment of collection units. He also ordered arrangements for home collection facility for patients who could not visit the hospital.

Moreover, the CDA chairman visited the pharmacy of the Capital Hospital and reviewed hardships faced by citizens.

While issuing instructions to officials, he said that such a mechanism should be put in place through which patients can be treated in the shortest possible time and medicines should be provided without any delay.

Apart from this, the chief commissioner also visited the new outpatient department (OPD) being built at the Capital Hospital. He reviewed the progress made in the development works.

He further said that the construction work should be accelerated and it should be completed at the earliest.

The top official also directed to ensure superior quality of work and all-out efforts to complete the project before the stipulated time. He said all available resources should be utilised in this regard. Officers of the relevant departments were also present.
