Mathira speaks up against public humiliation, while Bushra Iqbal urges to ban home wreckers

Achor Rabia Anum excused herself from the Nida Yasir show, after Mohsin Abbas Haider was invited to join them on set.

On Tuesday, Anchor Rabia Anum walked out of Nida Yasir's morning show to display her solidarity with the victims of domestic violence. The video clips of Anum excusing herself to Yasir before leaving the set made rounds on the internet, receiving applause from fans everywhere. Several celebrities also chimed in to appreciate her proactive response but Mathira begged to differ.

Commenting on a news piece, Mathira highlighted how people should get a chance to change themselves and not receive public humiliation for a mistake they made years ago. She noted, "This is so wrong, people should be given a chance to change."

She further expressed that public humiliation was not the answer. Presenting herself as an example, the model also pointed out how she would have "never humiliated anyone this way" and has left shows too after feeling "uncomfortable." "If she had a problem, she should not humiliate someone so publically. There are times I felt uncomfortable and left the show by apologizing, but never humiliated anyone this way!" she added.

Mathira later clarified that she does appreciate standing against domestic violence, but Anum "should have left gracefully." She wrote, "Standing and raising your voice against domestic violence is great thing, but she should have left gracefully."

She also showed her support for the Siyani actor. She said, "It's been years and she has no right to humiliate Mohsin, I feel really bad for him."

Mathira then finished her statement by sending an important message to her followers. "Try not to be a hero by stepping on someone," she concluded.

On another note, the late Aamir Liaquat Hussain's ex-wife Bushra Iqbal also shared her views on the incident. Taking to Twitter, the host talked about the actors and anchors who have "ruined other women's lives" and should be held accountable in a similar manner. She continued to state that all "homewreckers" should be banned as well.

She said, "What about those actors and female anchors who ruined other women's lives? Ban all home-wreckers as well," alongside a hashtag that read, "Equality for all.
