Two cops martyred in attack on police station in South Waziristan

Attackers also stole a vehicle along with government-issued arms and also set a police vehicle on fire

SOUTH WAZIRISTAN:

At least two police personnel were martyred and two were injured on Wednesday after unknown gunmen attacked the Raghzai police station - Tehsil Birmal of South Waziristan - during early morning hours, police reported.

According to sources, the martyred police officials were identified as Hameedullah and Farmanullah.

The attackers also stole a vehicle along with government-issued arms and also set a police vehicle on fire. There was an exchange of fire as the police retaliated to the attack, causing fear and panic in the area.

Earlier, two soldiers of the Pakistan Army embraced martyrdom when their convoy came under attack by terrorists in Hassan Khel area of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province’s North Waziristan district.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), “Own troops initiated a prompt response, effectively engaged and killed three terrorists. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the terrorists.”

The terrorists remained actively involved in terror activities against security forces, the ISPR added.
