KARACHI:

The Sindh High Court (SHC) has rejected the petition to include the accused Raheem Swati's sister's video statement as evidence in the Parween Rehman's murder case.

Justice KK Agha headed a two-member bench and announced its verdict on the appeal, and rejected Aqeela Ismail's plea.

According to the court's ruling, the petitioner's claim was baseless, and they were not even plaintiffs.

The subordinate court's decision mentions the video's irrelevance.

Defence Lawyers argued that no additional evidence could be added to the record once the trial was over.

The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) sentenced accused Raheem Swati, Amjad Hussain, Ayaz Swati, and Ahmed Hussain to life imprisonment twice.

The court convicted the accused in the Parween Rehman murder case in December 2021. Parween Rahman was the head of the Orangi pilot project and was murdered in 2013.
