Anchor Rabia Anum took a stand for the victims of domestic violence after she walked out of Nida Yasir's morning show on Tuesday. The host, who had already been seated when the show began, made a point to express solidarity with the abuse survivors and excused herself when she came to know of the remaining guests on the show.

Besides Anum, actors Fiza Ali and Mohsin Abbas Haider were also invited to today's episode. When Anum came to know about the other two guests, she apologised to Yasir and went on to explain her reasoning for walking out. "I want to apologise beforehand to you, Nida, for what I am about to say."

She added, "You know I love you. This team and this channel are very dear to me. We are talking about childhood mistakes right now but there are some mistakes that stay with you your whole life. I don't want to make such mistakes here today." Without taking names, Anum hinted about Haider's domestic abuse case filed by his former wife, Fatima Sohail.

She elaborated, "There's an issue close to me, for which I have taken a very strong stance. When I came to your show today, I knew Fiza will be here but I wasn't informed of any other guests. I have taken a stand against domestic abuse. And I think if my smallest effort can save my daughter, my friend tomorrow, then I have to comply."

She further shared, "For this reason, I don't want to be a part of this show." Addressing Yasir, Anum added, "I know you are an employee of the channel and I know you are very responsible. But if I sat through this show today, I won't be able to face my friends, my colleagues, or any victim tomorrow. I hope you can forgive me."

Many lauded Anum and her 'strong' take on the matter.

Haider was accused of physically abusing his wife, Sohail, in 2019. The actor had since categorically denied all allegations of violence levelled against him. The actor said that his wife's allegations are all a part of a conspiracy against him being carried out by his “enemies” in the showbiz industry.

"Every woman who accuses a man with tears in her eyes can't be telling the truth," he added. Haider further said that he has been raised by a family that has taught him how to respect women. He said that a fake Facebook reply by his name is being shared on social media to his wife's assault allegations post. "The passwords to all of my social media accounts are with her [Sohail], not with me."

When asked about his wife's claims that he was having an extramarital affair, the actor said: "There is no truth into this whatsoever."

Yasir hafeez | 1 year ago | Reply Can we took a bold step to walkout from a programme where any of Pakistani politician is invited Bcz they have not delivered a 1 for public welfare and do false promises on every election campaign. Do we have courage to walkout to support a man replica of same cause for which Ms. Rabia walked out....
