BANNU/PESHAWAR:

Hundreds of people took to streets for the third consecutive day against the assignation attempt on deposed prime minister Imran Khan’s life in Bannu on Saturday.

They chanted slogans against the federal government and demanded a proper inquiry in the attack.

The protestors blocked the Bannu-Kohat Road for all kind of vehicular traffic for hours, bringing the city to a stand still.

Addressing the participants, the PTI leaders said that due to its shameful defeat in recent by-elections, now the anti-Imran forces were using other means to get rid of him because it is not possible for them to fight him though ballot.

They said that the attack at the PTI azadi march had further strengthened the party and its resolve to fight the ruling elites. The road was only opened for traffic in the evening when the protestors dispersed peacefully.

PTI workers and supporters staged protests across the province despite the provincial leadership clear-cut instructions not to block roads and disrupt traffic.

Protests were held in Peshawar, Nowshera, Swat, Charsadda, Kohat, DI Khan and other parts on the province.
