10% job quota retained for teachers’ children

Promotion quota for junior clerk seat of class IV employees from scale I to scale IV has also been increased to 10%

RAWALPINDI:

The Ministry of Education and the teachers' organisations have agreed on the draft of amendments in service rules according to which all new jobs in the ministry will include a quota of 10 per cent of the total recruitments for the children of teaching and non-teaching staff.

Meanwhile, the promotion quota for the junior clerk seat of class-IV employees from scale-I to scale IV has also been increased to 10 per cent.

No future inductions will be made on the positions of teachers based on qualification up to intermediate.

The minimum requirement of education of the recruits has been increased to BA, BEd, BS and Masters. Further, an additional seat for Arabic teachers has been approved in all primary, middle and high schools across the province. These additional Arabic seats will be for teaching Qur'an Nazra in the schools.

The teachers’ organisations have expressed their happiness about the new amendments.

Teachers leaders Shafiq Bhalwalia and Basharat Iqbal Raja said: “This will solve many basic problems and demands of the teachers.” The amendments will be implemented in November after final approval.
