The Karachi-chapter of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) staged a rally in connection with the party’s long march, dubbed "Haqeeqi Azadi" on Friday.
A special camp was also set up on Sharae Faisal for the rally where the party’s parliamentary leader in Sindh Assembly Khurram Sher Zaman, central leaders Firdous Shamim Naqvi, Raja Azhar, Dr. Sanjay, Rabistan Khan, Saeed Afridi, Jamal Siddiqui, Shahnawaz Jadoon,
Adnan Ismail, Seema Zia, Fiza Zeeshan and Nusrat Wahid were present, along with workers and women activists. T
he rally, which started at the Insaf House Karachi, passed by Metropole Hotel and culminated at Teen Talwar.
Addressing the participants, Bilal Ghaffar said that the people of Karachi have proved that they would not accept the imported government at any cost.
The Haqeeqi Azadi march has entered the decisive phase and hopefully the PTI would soon get rid of this regime.
Imran Khan’s fault was to push for an independent foreign policy and saying "absolutely not" to American requests for US military air bases in Pakistan, he claimed.
Fifteen years ago, the PTI chairman had said that all thieves would unite when they were threatened.
"Today, we are seeing that 15 parties have united," he added. "A transparent election is the only solution to rid the country of crisis."
In his address, PTI’s parliamentary leader in the Sindh Assembly Khurram Sher Zaman said that the "imported government’s legs are already shaking due to the long march".
He said that the nation would neither spare the Sharifs nor the Zardaris and their Patwaris. "Soon our leader is coming to become the prime minister of the country," he added.
Firdous Shamim Naqvi said that the Haqeeqi Azadi march was not for the PTI but for the future of Pakistan’s children and for the future of Muslim Ummah. "Imran Khan became the leader of the Ummah to speak against Islamophobia at the global level," he added.
Naqvi warned Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah to refrain from using force against the long march participants. "If you have the guts, stop us," he threw the challenge at Sanaullah.
"Punjab Health Minister Yasmin Rashid’s car was stopped by Sananullah in Lahore, but now his legs are shaking," he said. "If you have courage, then have governor’s rule imposed in Punjab."
PTI MPA Saeed Afridi said that the entire Pakistan has come together for Haqeeqi Azadi.
"People have come out for the future of their children and to get rid of the ruling thugs and thieves," he said. He further said that Rana Sanaullah would flee the country as soon as the marchers reach Islamabad.
"His legs are already trembling," he added.
