KARACHI:

The Sindh High Court expressed anger over the illegal constructions in Liaquatabad and ordered the demolition of an illegally- constructed building.

"A seven-storey building was raised on a plot measuring 90 sq. yards and 14 portions were developed in this structure without any official approval, the counsel for the petitioner submitted before a two-member bench headed by Justice Syed Hasan Azhar Rizvi. The court said in a dialogue with the lawyer of SBCA that the said building would not have been
built in a day? The court remarked why the officer who entered the comments didnot write his name.

The SBCA lawyer stated that the building was built without a site plan, we will demolish it in a month. The court remarked that SBCA does not seem to have such capacity, hence
write your name with the commitment.

The court expressed its displeasure with the SBCA and directed the lawyer to assure the implementation and a copy of the court order to be sent to the DG as well.

Amenity plots

The Sindh High Court gave time to the Assistant Director KDA to respond to
the petition regarding possessing 14 amenity plots in Korangi Crossing Sector 30
while also remarked, "Don't claim to be unprepared at the next hearing."
