Ex-PM says Toshakhana items have to be sold eventually

ISLAMABAD:

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Sunday said that if his party does not get a two-thirds majority in the next polls, he would not take over the government.

He also questioned the decision of his disqualification in the Toshakhana reference. “What will you do with Toshakhana? In the end, you will have to sell,” he remarked.

He said that he would challenge the decision, and it would not stand in a court of law.

He remarked that United States President Joe Biden called Pakistan the most dangerous country in the world.

“Where is the diplomacy,” he said. “I will not form a government if I do not get a two-thirds vote.”

He claimed that it is clearly written in the cipher that Imran should be removed, and Shehbaz Sharif should be instituted as the prime minister.  He added that the message came on April 6 and the no-confidence motion was tabled on April 7.

He further remarked that his party would benefit from Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif’s return to Pakistan.

Regarding the long march, the former prime minister said that this time they would approach the federal capital with “great preparation”, adding that the government would not be able to stop the sea of people by doing anything.

He wondered whether he was solely responsible for stopping theft and corruption in the country.

Muftis’ support for long march

30 muftis of the Sunni Ittehad Council and the Muttahida Ulema Board Punjab have expressed their support for the PTI long march, calling for the party to come to power again to implement the Nizam-e-Mustafa (PBUH) in the country.

The delegation comprising 30 muftis was led by Sahibzada Hamid Raza, as they met the former prime minister at his Bani Gala residence.

PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Senator Shibli Faraz were also present on the occasion.

During the meeting, the current situation, PTI’s long march and elections were discussed.

The PTI chief appreciated Raza’s efforts for interfaith harmony, and thanked the delegation of muftis, saying that there should be legislation at the global level to protect the honour of prophets.

He also remarked that eradicating terrorism, extremism and sectarianism is essential for the security and stability of Pakistan. He added that the unity of “patriotic forces” is the need of the hour, and a stable Pakistan is the need of the Islamic world.

He called on the scholars to play their role to evoke pacifism in the young generation. He remarked that western forces are afraid of the love Muslims have for Holy Prophet (PBUH).
