The Sindh police have hired a specialist to train officers in geo-fencing, while hundreds of body cameras have also been acquired to enhance the force's capabilities and performance. This was disclosed in a report submitted by the DIG Training Centres in the Sindh High Court (SHC) on Saturday.
Specialist Dr. Qamar Al-Arifain has been engaged on a permanent basis to train police officers in geo-fencing, states the report, adding that 800 body cameras have also been purchased to control crime and keep an eye on police personnel during operations.
The report was submitted on a petition filed in the SHC seeking details of police training. It stated that course has been modernised in several police training centers operating in Sindh.
According to the petitioner, Karachi University is seriously working on introducing a degree in Digital Forensic Science & Technology which will be launched after the approval of the concerned authorities.
