LAHORE:

Provincial Senior Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal has said that industrial and economic development and prosperity are not possible without political stability in the country.

Talking to political and social figures on Thursday, he said the 13-party Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) had been defeated despite holding by-elections in its desired constituencies. Political stability cannot come with incompetent rulers sitting in the federation, he added. The minister said it was high time that the PDM learnt from its successive defeats. He added that the government should announce fresh general elections before the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's (PTI) call for a long march.

Aslam Iqbal said people were awaiting former prime minister Imran Khan's call to save the country from a disaster. He said the PTI would not let those evading accountability through deals to play with the fate of people.
