Apple is preparing to adopt the USB-C charging port for its AirPod and Mac accessories by 2024. After European Union's policy for universal USB-C charging ports, the company was compelled to make the change.

According to Bloomberg, Apple might make changes to its upcoming next-generation AirPods, AirPods Pro, and AirPods, which will include Mac accessories like Magic Mouse, Magic Keyboard, and Magic Trackpad.

Bloomberg reporter, Mark Gurman, believes the new iMac and Mac Pro release next year will coincide with accessory updates with the new USB-C charging.

Earlier this year, Gurman reported that Apple had already begun testing USB-C charging on its iPhones, but they won't be released until 2023.

EU legislation will require tech companies to make the transition to USB-C by 2025, but Gurman believes Apple will beat the due date and make the new charging ports for devices sooner.
